Message to players of The Lord of the Rings Online TCG

Decipher, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE-Denver, formerly the guys from Worlds Apart Productions), and New Line Cinema announce today that The LOTR Online TCG will continue to operate and serve players through June 30, 2010. The sale of all digital cards for the game will stop on June 30, 2007. The companies join together in thanking the player base for their active support and enthusiastic participation in the game during its very successful run.

Beginning early June and continuing through June 30, 2007, Decipher and SOE-Denver will offer players the opportunity to purchase a special, one-time only commemorative package that contains one of each card in the following sets of LOTR TCG: The Wraith Collection, Rise of Saruman, Treachery and Deceit, and Ages End. The price of this package will be $25 for a total of 333 cards. As an added gesture of appreciation, Fellowship Members who maintained their active membership during the past six months and who subsequently purchase the special commemorative package will also receive a full parallel foil set as well (one foil copy of each card in the commemorative package).

In June, Decipher and SOE-Denver will hold a final tournament, free to all current players, to celebrate the impressive run of The Lord of the Rings Online TCG. The top five finishers in that tournament will each receive a digital playset (four copies of each card) of every The Lord of the Rings Online TCG card ever sold. The April event schedule has been posted! Highlights for this month:

• Saturday, April 8 is Hunters Draft Day! We'll be launching as many pods as possible at 11am and 6pm MST. The top 6 players from all Hunters Draft Day drafts will be invited to a special free draft on Sunday, April 9 at 11am MST! The winner gets a digital box of Hunters!

Demoralized added to X-List

Decipher has updated the Current Rulings Document for The Lord of the Rings TCG, and among the changes this time around is a new addition to the Standard X-List. As of this Friday, March 24, Demoralized is no longer legal in Standard-format decks. The new X-List and CRD is in effect for the Online World Championship Qualifier on Saturday, March 25. See the new CRD for more details.

Only two more days until the St. Patrick's Day Sealed Event!

The special St. Patrick's Day sealed event is this Saturday, Mar. 18, at 11am MST. Bring any War Block or Hunters starter deck, three Hunters boosters and five Event passes to the Tournament Lobby.
There's still time to refer players to the game! For every player that names you in the referral section when they purchase a paid registration, you'll receive a random Standard booster pack just after the tournament starts, and this pack can be used in your tournament deck. The referral program ends Mar. 17 at 11:59pm MST.
Don't forget that each participant will also receive one of each of the new St. Patrick's Day digital promo cards, Goblet of the White City, Green Dragon Mug and Rohirrim Stein, and these cards will be playable in this tournament!

There's a St. Patrick's Day holiday sealed deck event on Mar. 18, and throughout February and March you can win additional packs to use in constructing your deck! February is Hunters Draft Month!

As a thank-you to your support of Hunters draft, we’re kicking off a February draft championship. Play as many drafts as you can in the month of February (starting Feb. 3 at 6pm server time) and we’ll tally up your points based on record. The winner as of midnight (11:59pm server time) Tuesday, February 28 receives 18 Hunters boosters, second place receives 12 and third place receives 6! Version "B" of the Hunters Block card designs!

Players have been testing the six player-designed Hunters Block cards and posting their feedback in the Hunters Card Design Forum over the last week. The six cards have all been tweaked and fine-tuned and re-written into new versions. Check out this article for details on the new "Version B" card texts. Charity Event Results!

Over the weekend, The Lord Of The Rings Online TCG hosted a special charity tournament to raise money for the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief in the Southeastern United States. We had 58 players for Saturday's tournament plus 7 more players who wanted to donate even though they couldn't attend the event. At $10 per player plus Scott, Bruce and Paul of Worlds Apart each donating $1 per player... $845 was raised for the Red Cross! We'd like to thank everyone who attended the event and made a contribution to a very worthy cause. Every player who donated has a special Gondor standard site path token, so if you see a player with one, thank them for their contribution! Congratulations are in order for JoseR, RookGuy and WiseOne who finished at the top of the tournament. For their victory, they'll split a digital booster box from a set of JoseR's choice! Thanks again to all the players who had fun in the name of helping those who have been hit hard by disaster!

2005 Premier Series Online Regional takes place this Saturday!

The First Premier Series Online Regional will take place this Saturday, September 10th, 11am MST. This Standard Constructed Event is open to all players and features digital and physical boosters, fan dollar prizes and Premier Points! September Events!

The September Events Schedule has been posted; take a look! Highlights include the first Premier Series Online Regional tournament on September 10th, the September Online PSQ on Saturday the 24th, a War Block Constructed tournament with a digital War Block Anthology as the top prize and many other great events. Of special note... on Saturday, September 3rd at 11am, The Lord Of The Rings Online TCG will be hosting a special charity event for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and the resulting floods that have devastated the American Southeast. The top three winners will get to split a digital booster box, all players will get a special site path token for playing but most importantly, all proceeds from the event will go directly to the Red Cross, the organization working day and night to help those who have lost homes and friends in the disaster. If you'd like to have fun for a great cause, join us Saturday Morning for this important event!
